Exchange Students: Sending Your Child Abroad And Hosting A Foreign Student?

On the subject of exchange studies what are some organizations like ASPECT foundation that allow you to send your child abroad in exchange for hosting a foreign student. I’d appreciate any information that you can give me.

It doesn’t exactly work that way — a one-to-one exchange. Most programs will give you an allowance off of sending YOUR child if you host however.
The top three are AFS, YFU and Rotary Exchange — although Aspect isn’t a bad program either. I’m not sure of the specifics of Rotary, as they are set up differently from the others. But generally, if you host a student, you do get a discount for your child.
If you wish to host, you really need to contact the school that the student would attend. There are a great many programs out there and not all schools accept all programs. The counselor will have that information. Also, the slots for exchange students are generally limited — so you’ll want to get on the list as soon as possible.
Once you get contact information, set up some interviews (remember, YOU are in the driver’s seat as most programs actively seek both host families AND students to travel abroad). Go with the organization you feel most comfortable.
    Good luck!
