Well, it depends on the owner of the file and the rules of conduct at the hosting service. There are multiple agents which have a say in copy write infringement. There is the owner, the owner agent, and the hosting service, and your ISP conduct of service agreement.
Usually, but not always, the worst is you are told to take it down on a first offense. On a second offense you could lose your rights to use that hosting service. You probably wouldn’t be given a third chance to offend by any hosting service. You see, the hosting service has legal liability to watch out for too. They could get into legal hot water if the owner decided they were negligent by allowing copy write infringement. They could be sued if the owner found out about it.
Now, while these are the most likely outcomes, as I said they are not guanteed. The hosting service could turn you in to the owner, or report your violation to the owner and/or agent. They could then file a legal complaint against you and/or sue you for damages. While this is not the likilest outcome it does occur. Cop write holders are stamping down harder on people who illegally post their material, especially songs. If it is a photo the chances of legal involvement is rarer.
So, you have to evaluate the risks with the rewards, and search your own moral conscience and then make a decision on what you are willing to do. Remember, it is stealing. I wonder how you would react if you had worked very hard on a work of art, regardless of its form, only to have other people post it like it is their own work?
Now, usually you can get by with posting most protected content, except song files, if you post a copy write notice under the work. Just let everyone know who the creator/owner is so that person can receive just recognition.

its not a good practice to upload others stuff.
But ,you can do that by asking permission of that file’s owner.
I don’t think, you get arrested but it depends if you upload a file which was very costly software and you have to appear in court to explain that .

No. You will just be told that you don’t have a copyright and told to take it down. You might lose your account wherever your host is.
